Financial Coaching for Prosperity
We are excited to announce that a cohort of 33 staff that work with IDA savers (from 24 different IDA Provider organizations) just completed our first 28-hour Financial Coaching for Prosperity Training Series!
This training, which spanned 2 months, both in person and virtual, provided staff from across the Initiative comprehensive financial coaching instruction, tools, and practice. We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with two very skilled presenters, Devin Stubblefield and Kamilla Johnson.
One participant’s comment from the last day of the training summarized the experience nicely: “If this was on Yelp, I’d give it 5 stars!” and as another participant shared, “what was most valuable from these trainings are the direct feedback from people already in this field to improve my coaching skills to better serve the saver.”
We’d like to give a big thank you to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals for helping make this project possible! If you missed the training this time around, don’t worry–Devin and Kamilla will be joining us to lead a “Family-Centered Financial Coaching” workshop at RE:Conference on Day 2, and we will also offer the Financial Coaching for Prosperity Training Series again in 2025–location TBD so stay tuned!
Tahoma Peak Solutions
NP would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Tahoma Peak Solutions, who worked with us to offer an incredible 4-part training to IDA Providers. With over 15 years of experience in education on Indigenous issues, the Tahoma Peak Solutions team crafted a series to cover the bases of DEI in Indian Country, including Native American History 101, Indigenous Communications, Outreach and Working with Tribes, and Understanding Tribal Economies.
We were able to offer this training twice- once in 2023 and again in 2024 to IDA Providers. Here is one participants’ reflections on the trainings: “Savannah and Maria are EXPERTS and their knowledge has been so helpful and informative, and is something that has altered my lens/frame of thinking and how I approach my work.”
